My dear Youth of Vihiga,

Today, as the world marks International Youth Day, I join you in celebrating the heartbeat of our county - from Hamisi to Luanda, Emuhaya to Sabatia and Vihiga.

You are not just the leaders, you are the builders of today.

This year's theme, "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations" speaks directly to us. Yes, our context is unique - a small county but of great scholars, We face real challenges: unemployment, limited land, climate change affecting our farms, and the lure of giving up.

But our aspirations are common and powerful: We all want Dignity. Decent Work. Quality Education. A chance to be heard.

On this day, I want to tell every young person in Vihiga:

1. Your skill is your wealth. Whether you are in farming, boda boda, tailoring, teaching, music or business - do it with excellence. Let us turn our small farms into smart agribusiness and our talents into enterprises.
2. Your voice matters. Do not wait to be invited to the table. Form groups, join public participation, volunteer, innovate. Vihiga needs your ideas in the County Assembly,in parliament, in the village baraza, and online.
3. Your unity is your strength. As Abamaragoli, Abatirichi, Abanyole, Abaterik and all communities living in Vihiga, we are one. Let us reject tribalism, drugs abuse and political misuse. Let us choose peace, hard work and integrity.

When elected Governor, our County Government and our partners will be committed to opening doors for you through the ICT hubs and agribusiness support amongst the avenues I have planned for the youth. But the key is in your hands.

Vihiga is small in size but mighty in mind. Let us rise up and be counted, trust me to be your partner in your journey to prosperity.
