Today, I joined family and friends at his home in Budaywa, Busali Ward (Sabatia Sub County), to mourn this profound loss while also celebrating a life defined by hope, unity and progress.
Later, I attended the burial service of the late Assistant Chief of Mambai Sub-Location, Anne Khamete Sakwa, in Wodanga Ward (Sabatia Sub County), a dedicated public servant, committed leader and a true pillar of the community.
Anne was more than an administrator, a vital bridge between the people and government, a voice for the voiceless and a steady presence in both times of calm and challenge.
I also had the honour of eulogizing the late Mama Tereza Mmbone Chogo in Central Maragoli Ward (Vihiga Sub County), a woman who carried herself with remarkable grace and strength, embodying a life deeply rooted in love, faith and service to others.
For many of us who share a close bond with her children - especially Lawrence Chogo - she was more than a mother; a guiding figure who welcomed us warmly and nurtured us with care.
May her soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
